Christian Mölling
DIRECTOR
Dr. Christian Mölling is a prominent German political scientist specialising in security and defence policy. As of November 2025, he serves as Director of EDINA, a programme of the IET: Initiative for European Transformation. He also is a senior advisor to the European Policy Centre. Recognised as a leading expert on European defence and transatlantic security, Mölling has contributed to public discourse, especially since the escalation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Torben Schütz
RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Torben Schütz is a German political scientist specializing in security and defence policy. Since April 2026, he serves as Research Director of EDINA. In his work, he focuses on German and European security and defence policy, military capabilities, and defence industrial issues. Previous stations of his career include the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), the University of the Federal Armed Forces (Hamburg) and the Bertelsmann Foundation.

Helena Quis
RESEARCH FELLOW COMPREHENSIVE DEFENCE
Helena Quis is a political scientist specializing in security and defence policy. In her work, she focuses on German and European total defence, civil preparedness and resilience. She holds a double Master’s degree in International Relations and Public Diplomacy from Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the University of Siena. She also completed the Programme in French and European Studies at Sciences Po Lyon and gained experience as an intern at the Austrian Mission to NATO in Brussels. Previously, the worked at the Bertelsmann Foundation.

Noah Heinemann
RESEARCH FELLOW DEFENCE
Noah Heinemann is a German political scientist specialising in security and defence policy. Since September 2026, he serves as a Research Fellow for Defence in EDINA. His work focuses primarily on defence industries, armament policy, defence expenditure and military strategy. Previously, he worked on defence industries in NATO's International Staff and gained experience through multiple internships, including at the German Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). He holds a Master's degree in War and Defence Studies from the Swedish Defence University.

Lara Müller
WORKING STUDENT
Lara Müller is a Master’s student in Political Science at the University of Göttingen, focusing on International Relations, European and maritime security. Since September 2026, she serves as a Working Student at EDINA, supporting stakeholder management, events and research. Previously, she completed a Schuman Traineeship at the European Parliament and gained experience through several internships, including at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s International Politics and Security Division.
